The Japanese Hannya Tattoo
The Japanese have had a rich history of art and tattooing. The Hannya mask has been know to bring good luck t the wearer. I used this design to effectively cover up a bad tattoo. Cover up are gaining in popularity as there are so many bad tattoos being done these days.
Joe Kennedy has been tattooing since 1989 and a large part of his business is cover up tattoos and Japanese style tattooing.
Mixing of Katatana and Kanji to say something special in Japanese, with the added Cherry Blossoms, makes for a beautiful tattoo. Hey if you are getting something written in Japanese or Chinese make sure it is a correct translation! Yes real and accurate translations of what you want to say in your tattoo.

OK so you got her name on your arm… no problem. Creating a new image is the best way to cover it up. So here is what I did…
Drawn from a picture, I took while in Japan a number of years ago,The Golden Pagoda reflecting in a tranquil pond. When I took the picture I knew that someday I would tattoo the image.
Another reworked tattoo, here once laid a mighty dragon ( but poorly done)but time has shown that some thing are better off fading. I reworked the dragon and added some stars and his signature logo “Chef in Thyme”.
